The Challenge: Multi-Stage Grading of Raw Herbs
A spice processing facility required more than just simple scalping for their raw oregano. To maximize product value, the objective was twofold: removing large stalks and sticks while simultaneously separating fine dust and undersized particles from the premium herb leaves. The system needed to handle bulk volume while providing three distinct discharge streams in a single pass.

The Solution: Double-Deck Linear Vibrating Sifter
We engineered a high-specification Stainless Steel Double-Deck Linear Sifter (2000 x 750 mm) to provide precision fractioning for the food and herb industry.
- Three-Way Product Fractioning: Unlike single-deck models, this double-deck configuration features two stacked mesh screens. This allows the system to separate material into three categories: oversized waste (stalks), premium graded oregano, and fine “fines” or dust.
- Dual-Motor Linear Motion: The sifter utilizes two counter-rotating vibrators. This setup generates a precise linear throw that moves material forward while ensuring aggressive stratification, allowing the oregano to be accurately sorted across the entire 2000mm length.
- High-Efficiency Grading: By utilizing multiple decks, the facility achieves a “cleaner” final product. The top deck scalps the heavy impurities, while the second deck ensures only the desired leaf size reaches the primary outlet.
- Hygienic Food-Grade Build: Constructed from 304/316 stainless steel, the unit includes quick-clamp toggles for rapid mesh changes and complies with UK Food Standards Agency hygiene requirements for spice processing.
