The Challenge: Eliminating Manual Forklift Mixing of Toxic Chemicals
A chemical building materials plant relied on an unconventional method to mix highly toxic substances: using a forklift to abruptly shake liquid tanks up and down. This manual process posed significant safety risks, lacked repeatability, and required operators to be dangerously close to the agitation site. Furthermore, traditional rotary stirring was prohibited due to the explosive sensitivity of the mixture.

The Solution: Automated Non-Rotary Shaking Platform
We engineered a custom Industrial Platform Shaker to automate the mixing process while strictly adhering to safety and distance protocols:
  • Pneumatic/Mechanical Vertical Agitation: The platform mimics the “abrupt” up-down movement required for proper mixing, providing the necessary kinetic energy without the shear forces of a rotating impeller.
  • Programmable Mixing Cycles: The system is fully automated to run the client’s specific protocol—10 minutes of active shaking followed by 10 minutes of rest—repeated alternately for one hour.
  • Safety-First Design: By replacing the forklift with a fixed platform, we removed the operator from the immediate hazard zone. The system is designed for hazardous area compliance, utilizing non-sparking components to mitigate explosion risks associated with high-speed rotation.

The Result: Secure, Repeatable Chemical Blending
The automated shaker provides consistent product quality that manual forklift agitation could never achieve. By digitizing the mixing schedule and removing human intervention, the plant achieved full safety compliance and optimized their throughput for building material production.
