A world-renowned copper foundry required a robust solution to elevate heavy copper and bronze particles. With a significant specific weight of 2.8 kg/lt, these particles present a unique handling challenge: while they are free-flowing, their density and spherical nature cause them to fall backwards in standard conveyors, leading to inefficiency and mechanical wear.

The Solution: High-Velocity Auger with Reinforced Wear Protection
We engineered a specialized Industrial Screw Conveyor tailored for the extreme demands of the metallurgy industry:
  • High-Rotational Speed: To overcome the “back-slip” tendency of heavy metal particles, the system operates at a high RPM. This creates the centrifugal force necessary to maintain a constant upward velocity.
  • Extra-Thick Flighting: Metal-on-metal friction is highly abrasive. We manufactured the spiral with extra-thick steel flights to extend the operational lifespan of the auger and resist the intense wear caused by the 2.8 kg/lt bronze load.
