A cottonseed processing facility required an extensive industrial transport network to handle seeds during the chemical delinting process. This specific application involves the addition of dilute sulphuric acid to strip remaining cotton fibres (lint) from the seeds. Because sulphuric acid is exceptionally corrosive to standard carbon steels, the plant needed a heavy-duty conveying system that could withstand constant chemical attack without mechanical failure or product contamination.
