Industrial Dust Filtration Spares: Replacement Cartridges & Bags

.
BritSOLIDS is a specialist UK supplier of Replacement Filter Media for industrial dust extraction, silo venting, and pneumatic conveying systems. We provide high-performance Filter CartridgesFilter Bags, and Pleated Sleeves designed to maintain low pressure drops and ensure your facility meets HSE and environmental emission standards.
.
The Critical Role of Filter Media
In any bulk solids process, your filtration media is the final barrier against product loss and atmospheric contamination. Using sub-standard spares leads to “filter blinding,” which forces your fan to work harder, increasing energy costs and risk of motor failure. Our Industrial Filter Spares are engineered for superior “cake release,” ensuring your pulse-jet cleaning system operates at peak efficiency.
  • Maximum Surface Area: Our Pleated Cartridges offer up to 3x the filtration area of traditional bags, allowing for higher airflow in a compact footprint.
  • Compliance Guaranteed: Available in Food Grade (FDA) and Antistatic (ATEX) versions to prevent electrostatic discharge in hazardous powder zones.
.

Our Range of Filtration Spares

1. Spare Dust Collector Filter Cartridges
Precision-engineered for silo venting and cartridge-style dust extractors.
  • Standard Sizing: Common diameters include Φ325mm, Φ150mm, and Φ120mm in lengths of 600mm or 1000mm.
  • Media Options: High-grade Spun-bond Polyester, Cellulose, or Aluminised Antistatic materials.
  • High Efficiency: Available with PTFE membranes for the collection of ultra-fine or “sticky” hygroscopic powders.

2. Replacement Filter Bags & Sleeves
Designed for traditional baghouse filters and gravity-fed venting systems.
  • Construction: Heavy-duty Needle-felt Polyester (500g/m²) with snap-ring or corded top-fittings.
  • Customization: Available in various lengths (e.g., Φ150 x 2000mm) to suit all major UK baghouse brands.
  • Finishes: Choose from glazed or singed finishes to facilitate easier dust removal during the cleaning cycle.

3. Spare Pleated Filter Sleeves (The Baghouse Upgrade)
Retrofit your existing baghouse with pleated sleeves to increase filtration area by up to 300% without modifying your housing. This is the most cost-effective way to solve “undersized filter” issues.

Technical FAQ: Filtration Maintenance

Q: When is it time to replace my filter cartridges?
A: Monitor your Differential Pressure (ΔP). If it remains consistently high (typically above 150daPa) even after cleaning, the pores are likely “blinded.” Continuing to run with blinded filters will significantly increase your energy bills.
.
Q: Are your filters compatible with other manufacturers?
A: Yes. We supply replacement media compatible with the majority of UK and European brands. Simply provide your current dimensions or part number.
.
Q: Can I use antistatic filters in all zones?
A: Antistatic (Aluminised) media is essential for any process involving combustible dusts (ST1, ST2, or ST3 classes) to ensure compliance with DSEAR/ATEX regulations.

Technical Measurement Guide: Dust Filtration Spares

Before requesting a quote for Industrial Filter Spares, please use the following checklists to verify your dimensions. Accurate measurements prevent “blow-by” (dust leaking past the seal) and ensure the cleaning mechanism (pulse-jet) functions correctly.
.
1. Measuring Filter Cartridges (Pleated Elements)
Most UK silo vents and dust collectors use the standard 325mm diameter cartridge, but there are critical variations in the top cap.
  • A. Outer Diameter (OD): Measure the widest part of the cartridge body (Commonly Φ325mm, Φ150mm, or Φ120mm).
  • B. Overall Length (L): Measure from the top of the flange to the very bottom of the end cap (Standard lengths: 600mm, 660mm, 1000mm).
  • C. Top Cap / Flange Type: This is the most critical measurement for a proper seal.
    • Open/Closed: Is the bottom cap open or closed with a bolt hole?
    • Flange Style: Is it a 3-Lug (Twist-lock)4-Lug, or a Plain Header with a gasket?
  • D. Internal Support: Does the cartridge have an inner metal mesh or is it a “moulded” core?
.
2. Measuring Replacement Filter Bags & Sleeves
Filter bags are flexible, so they must be measured while laid flat.
  • A. Flat Width (W): Lay the bag flat on a table and measure across.
    • Calculation: (Flat Width x 2) / 3.14 = Diameter. (e.g., A 240mm flat width equals a Φ150mm bag).
  • B. Overall Length (L): Measure from the very top to the very bottom seam.
  • C. Top Fitting Style: How does the bag attach to the cell plate?
    • Snap-Band: Features a flexible internal spring-steel ring. (Measure the cell plate hole diameter).
    • Raw Edge: A plain top for use with a separate hose clamp.
    • Flange Top: A felt or rubber collar that sits on top of the plate.
  • D. Bottom Style: Is it a Reinforced Base, a Flat Sewn Bottom, or a Conical shape?
.
3. Identifying the Correct Filter Media
Beyond dimensions, the Material (Media) must match your process:
  1. Check for an Earth Lead: If your current filter has a wire or an “Aluminised” (grey/shiny) finish, you must order Antistatic (ATEX) media.
  2. Look for High-Temperature Discolouration: If the bag is scorched, you may need to upgrade to Nomex/Aramid (High-temp) media.
  3. Check for Blinding: If the bag is “caked” and hard, consider a PTFE Membrane upgrade for better release.
