Industrial Car Battery Recycling & Lead Recovery Line

Industrial Car Battery Recycling & Lead Recovery Line

The Challenge: Efficient Separation of Hazardous Multi-Material Waste
Recycling automotive and industrial batteries requires the precise separation of toxic liquids, heavy metals, and mixed plastics. The challenge lies in breaking down rugged battery casings while ensuring a 100% recovery rate for lead and clean separation of polypropylene (plastics), all while maintaining a safe, contained environment.
.
Our Solution: Multi-Stage Shredding & Flotation System
BritSOLIDS engineered a high-capacity, turn-key recycling line that utilizes mechanical and density-based separation to recover high-purity raw materials:
  • Stage 1: Heavy-Duty Primary Shredding: The process begins with a large-breaker hammer mill. This industrial-strength shredder reduces car and truck batteries into uniform small fragments, exposing all internal components.
  • Stage 2: Liquid & Solid Separation: A specialized vibrating sieve system immediately separates hazardous battery electrolytes (liquids) from the solid fragments (lead, insulation, and plastics).
  • Stage 3: Advanced Flotation & Density Separation: The solids enter a flotation tank. Using the physics of material density, integrated screw conveyors automatically separate the heavier lead components from the lighter plastics.
  • Stage 4: High-Purity Lead Recovery: In the final stage, the recovered lead is processed through a smelting furnace to produce pure lead ingots, ready for re-entry into the manufacturing cycle.
.
The Result: Sustainable Circular Economy Solutions
By implementing the BritSOLIDS recovery line, the plant achieves:
  • Maximum Recovery Rates: High-purity lead ready for immediate smelting.
  • Valuable By-products: Cleanly separated plastics (polypropylene) for secondary recycling markets.
  • Environmental Compliance: A closed-loop system that handles hazardous materials with industrial precision.
