Sieves Centrifuges
CENTRIFUGAL SIFTERS
Centrifugal sifters consist of a rotating shaft, which at the beginning is in the form of a screw and then has side fins and a flexible cylindrical mesh. Their peculiarity is that in case of overfeeding, they do not “clog”, since the extra product passes unscreened to the wrong outlet. Centrifugal sieves are used in products such as flour.
Circular sieves
TUMBLER SCREENS – CIRCULAR PALINDROMIC SIEVES
They are applied in fine grain sizes from 4 mm – 0.1 mm, they are in a horizontal position, and they create a “hoola-hoop” or tumbler movement with a motor and a system with eccentric counterweights, which can be adjusted according to the movement needed by the specific product.
Self-cleaning is done with rubber balls, rotating brushes or an ultrasonic system.
The finer the particle size, the lower the performance of the sieve, e.g. for product separation at 100 μm with a sieve of diameter Φ2000mm, the performance will probably not exceed 1000 kg/h.
CIRCULAR VIBRATING SIEVES
They are applied in grain sizes from 10 mm – 0.5 mm, are in a horizontal position and usually have 2 eccentric vibrators at antidiametric points. Self-cleaning is done by rubber balls, which hit the screen at random positions from below.
Rectangular Sieves
VIBRATING RECTANGULAR SIEVES
They are applied to large grain sizes (50 mm – 2 mm), have a central inclined body, which is vibrated by eccentric vibrators.
Better performance is achieved if the product is spread as it enters with a vibrating feeder.
To keep the screens from clogging, the screen can be self-cleaned with heated screens or pulse tensioners that stretch and release the screen periodically.
