Dedusting filters
Dedusting Filters
Types of dedusting filters:
Bag filters
Cartridge filters
Activated Carbon Filters
Cartridge filters
CARTRIDGE FILTERS
Cartridge filters or cartridge dust collectors have filter elements which are cylindrical pleated filter cartridges (e.g. Φ325 x 1200 mm). In this case, the filtering surface is tripled for the same size dust collector.
The self-cleaning of the filters plays a big role in the correct operation of the dedusting. Self-cleaning solenoid valves with reverse jet pulse air keep the filter elements clean.
The frequency of self-cleaning can be achieved by a simple timer or by adjusting Δp of the pressure difference between the clean and the dusty side of the dust collector.
By selecting the appropriate set points one can protect the filter elements from excessive cleaning and also avoid clogging.
A filter can be placed in a central point and suctioned by a fan from several dedusting locations or to be placed on top of a silo (fed by airlift).
There are mobile filters on wheels capable of dedusting one single suction point with or without a suction arm. There are also industrial vacuum cleaners with a cartridge filter, a 200 lt collection bin, and a built-in fan.
MOBILE FILTERS WITH SUCTION ARM
PULSATRON COMPACT “MINI ”
The “PC1/CV” mobile filters with suction arms, are designed to solve all the problems of dust suction and dedusting, produced in mobile environments or very small places, which cannot justify a central unit.
Contaminated air enters the filter through a pre-chamber that allows the separation of large particles and then into the filter element, while clean air exits from the top through the fan.
When the absorbent capacity decreases, a button allows the filter element to be cleaned manually, emptying the dust into the collection drawer.

FIXED CARTRIDGE FILTERS, 1 SUCTION POINT
PULSATRON COMPACT “MINI”
The “PC1/MV” filters are stable and are the smallest and most economical option for suction.
The “PC1/MV” filters are self-cleaning pleated filter elements and are designed to solve the problems of dust suction and dedusting, which is too little to justify a central unit.
Contaminated air enters the filter through a pre-chamber that allows the separation of large particles and then into the filter element, while clean air exits from the top through the fan.
When the absorbent capacity decreases, a button allows the filter element to be cleaned manually, emptying the dust into the collection drawer.
Characteristics:
Performance from 720 – 1200 m 3 /h
Vacuum from 2000 – 2600 Pa
Dust collection in drawer 12 lt
With 1 pleated Polyester filter element, from 0.75 – 9.6 m 2

– Small machine tools
– Chemical works
– Pharmaceuticals
– Plastic
– Coloring substances
Bag Filters
BAG FILTERS
The filter is a metal container with an inlet (dust side), the filter material (filter cloth) and an outlet (clean side).
The dusty air is sucked from the various suction positions with the help of a fan and is guided onto the filter cloth.
The dust particles cannot penetrate it and come out on the clean side (like the air), so with the help of self-cleaning valves they are collected in a bucket under the filter.
The filter material can be cellulose, polyester, antistatic polyester, dralon, nomex, namur, etc. depending on the temperature, particle size, humidity of the product.
The filter elements are cylindrical filter socks with a bottom (eg Φ 120 x 3000 mm) that are placed inside the metal cages.

Activated Carbon Filters
ACTIVATED CARBON FILTERS
ACTIVATED CARBON FILTERS / GENERAL DESCRIPTION . For deodorization (abduction of odors) filters with active carbon particles are used, which have the ability to adsorb odors like a sponge within their pores.
Gas filtration with an activated carbon system is the final stage of filtration. Usually preceded by filters for dust particles, electrostatic or absolute filters
ACTIVATED CARBON FILTERS / TYPES / CATEGORIES. Cartridges made of perforated sheet metal are filled with activated carbon granules. Then a series of such cartridges are placed in a metal galvanized frame depending on the required amount of filtration / deodorization that we want to achieve and constitute a unit of active carbon filters in cartridge filters. These industrial activated carbon filters are suitable for odors and have a specific lifetime. After this time (without clogging) they lose their absorbent power and the contents of the cartridges must be replaced with new activated carbon powder.
Electrostatic Filters / Oil Cloud Filters
OIL MIST FILTERS
CENTRIFUGAL FILTERS FOR CLEAN MIST “CM” OIL CLOUD
Oil mist filters are responsible for filtering, i.e. the removal of oil particles (whether in liquid form or in mist) from the air drawn in during the various treatments. A simple filter cloth could not do this removal and would immediately become useless.
The oil mist filter body consists of two parts. The screened inlet, which expels the liquids and the conical part for the correct distribution of the clouds in the rotating rotor. The oil mists and vapors are centrifuged at high speed inside the rotor, pass through the filter panels and undergo a violent liquefaction into small droplets, which are easily expelled by gravity. Fresh air is extracted from the upper side.
Air flow: 300 – 2300 m 3 /h, Fan: 0.55 – 2.2 kW
ELECTROSTATIC FILTERS
FINAL ELECTROSTATIC FILTER FEF
They are applied to products with very fine particle sizes (e.g. 40 μm).
The FEF electrostatic final filter is designed as the final filtration stage for the OIL MIST oil mist filter, but it can also be used independently.
Polluted air is drawn into the filter and passes through the ionized section, where particles down to 0.03 µm receive a strong electrical charge. It then passes through a second section where the walls have the opposite charge. So the dust particles stick to the walls. The cleaning effect of this particular polluted air is spectacular.
Air flow: 2300 m 3 /h
CENTRAL STATIC FILTERS TO REDUCE OIL CLOUDS
MIST COMPACT “MC”
In larger applications, central oil cloud units are used with even better results. A central oil mist filter consists of modular sections in a central epoxy painted steel body. Internally, pre-filters, moisture traps, wavy filter elements and a series of rigid filter cloths – cassettes have been installed. The oil is collected in small containers. The Mist Compact filter has large doors for checking and replacing the filter elements.
Air flow: 3000 – 42000 m 3 /h
Filtering stages:
- Forced separation vestibule
- Metal prefilter
- Droplet separator (moisture trap)
- Synthetic waved filter elements G4
- Rigid elliptical bag filters F9 (cases)
Wet Scrubbers
FILTER SCRUBBERS
IDRODUST COMPACT “ID”
HYDRODYNAMIC WET SCRUBBER
Detergents are used in deodorizing applications, i.e. odor removal (= fine particles, which are not visible to the naked eye). The Idrodust Scrubber is a hydrodynamic machine that removes dust, vapors, gases by mixing them with water. The mixing takes place in a specially designed duct, where the contaminated air has been centrifuged by the fan and allows the particles to be trapped in the water. The water is recirculated without the help of pumps or spray nozzles and thus there are no parts that need systematic maintenance or control.
Air flow:
2500 – 12000 m 3 /h, Fan: 4.0 – 11.0 kW
