The system needed to handle a wide variety of powders with differing flow characteristics—from free-flowing milk powder and dextrose to notoriously difficult, “sticky” ingredients like cocoa. The objective was to ensure a fine, lump-free final product while preventing the common issue of “screen blinding” (clogging).

The Solution: VFD-Driven Rotary Sifter with Integrated Screw Feed
We engineered a custom Stainless Steel Centrifugal Sifter optimized for multi-ingredient processing:
  • Controlled Infeed: The system features a horizontal shaft that begins with an integrated inlet screw feeder, ensuring a consistent, surge-free flow of material into the sifting chamber.
  • Dynamic Speed Control (VFD): To handle the varied ingredient profiles, we utilized a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD). This allow the operator to adjust the RPM for maximum efficiency:
    • 100 RPM: Ideal for high-speed sifting of milk powder and dextrose.
    • 20 RPM: A specialized low-speed setting for sticky cocoa powder, allowing the rotary knives to gently brush the material through the grid without “pasting” or clogging the screen.
  • Hygienic Rotary Action: High-speed internal blades create a centrifugal force that “scrubs” the powder through a cylindrical metal grid, ensuring only the finest particles move forward.
