The Challenge: Precision Grinding for Oilseed Production
A cotton seed processing facility required an industrial solution to grind raw seeds into a consistent meal for oil extraction and animal feed. Initial testing revealed that cotton seeds, due to their unique fibre content and density, required specific internal clearances to prevent material buildup and ensure a uniform 8mm output without overheating the machine.

The Solution: Iterative Design & Performance Optimisation
Following a successful pilot phase, we supplied a total of four heavy-duty hammer mills. Our engineering team used the initial installation to fine-tune the system for maximum efficiency:
  • Optimised Internal Geometry: We increased the clearance between the side grate and the outer housing. This prevents “plugging” and allows for a smoother material flow, even at high throughput rates.
  • Fine-Grained Sizing: An 8mm precision grid (instead of 6mm) was integrated to achieve the exact particle size required for downstream oilseed processing.
  • Scalable Reliability: After perfecting the first unit, we manufactured and delivered the remaining three mills with these custom modifications pre-installed, ensuring a “perfect outcome” across the entire production line.
