The Challenge: Efficient Vertical Feeding of NPK Blending Mixers
A fertilizer production facility required a reliable vertical transport solution to feed raw N, P, and K (Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium) components into a high-capacity Nauta mixer. The material, arriving in heavy industrial bags, needed to be manually emptied and elevated to the mixer’s top-mounted intake. The system had to withstand the corrosive nature of chemical fertilizers while providing safe, ergonomic access for both operators and maintenance engineers.

The Solution: Heavy-Duty Galvanized Elevator with Safety Access
We engineered a robust Vertical Bucket Elevator specifically designed for the aggressive environment of mineral fertilizer processing:
  • Corrosion-Resistant Galvanized Construction: To ensure long-term durability against the corrosive chemical properties of NPK salts, the entire elevator casing and structural frame were hot-dip galvanized.
  • Integrated Sack Tipping Station: To streamline the intake process, we built a specialized bag-emptying station at the elevator inlet. This ergonomic station reduces manual handling risks and ensures a dust-contained discharge into the buckets.
  • Maintenance-First Header Platform: Safety is a priority for UK plant operations. We integrated a reinforced service platform and base at the elevator head. This provides engineers with secure, stable access for routine motor inspections and gearbox maintenance, fully compliant with UK Work at Height Regulations.
  • Precision Nauta Mixer Feed: The discharge chute is precisely angled to provide a steady, surge-free feed into the Nauta mixer, ensuring an even distribution of raw materials for the blending cycle.
