250m² Industrial Baghouse Filter for Wood & MDF Dust Extraction

250m² Industrial Baghouse Filter for Wood & MDF Dust Extraction

.
The Challenge: Managing High-Volume Wood Waste Across 14 Workstations
A large-scale wood and MDF processing facility required a centralised Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) system to handle the massive volumes of sawdust generated by multiple cutting machines, planers, and band saws. The system needed to maintain high suction pressure across 14 independent positions while ensuring the fine, combustible dust was safely filtered and collected for downstream recycling.
.
The Solution: Centralised 250m² Baghouse with Automated Discharge
We engineered and installed a heavy-duty Galvanized Bag Filter System designed for continuous operation:
  • Massive Filtration Surface: The unit features a 250m² filter area, utilizing high-efficiency bags to capture even the finest MDF particles, ensuring the exhausted air meets strict UK HSE air quality standards.
  • Automated Material Handling: To prevent dust accumulation in the hopper, the cone is equipped with a Φ300mm screw conveyor and a precision rotary valve (airlock). This ensures a dust-tight seal while continuously emptying the collected sawdust.
  • Circular Economy Integration: The system does not just extract waste; it prepares it for value-added recovery. The collected sawdust is automatically transferred to a compression press, where it is turned into briquettes for biomass heating.
.
The Result: A Clean, Compliant, and Productive Workshop
The centralised extraction system transformed the facility’s air quality. By automating the transport of sawdust from the machines to the briquette press, the plant reduced manual cleaning time, lowered fire risks, and created a new revenue stream from their wood waste.
